Operation “Roadpol - Security Devices”, which extends until Sunday, aims to improve road safety and compliance with road standards.
In 2022, according to Guard, 20,292 violations due to a lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and children's retention systems.
The operation takes place within the European Traffic Police Network (Roadpol), an organisation that was established by the European Traffic Police, with the objective of improving road safety and compliance with road standards.
How about fining the large number of drivers who can't be bothered to use their indicators when turning? You'd think Portuguese drivers had advanced rheumatism or arthritis that stops them using their fingers/hands.

Maybe this article could have been a little bit longer, and for example go into details of what the legal requirements are for child car seats, ages restrictions etc. I Found this on the internet:
11 years old and 134 cm - the use of restraint systems is required;
12 years old and 134 cm - the use of restraint systems is not required;
11 years old and 135cm - The use of restraint systems is not required;
12 years old and 135cm - The use of restraint systems is not required;
If the children have 135cm or more, regardless of age - the use of restraint systems is not required;
If the children is 12 years old or older, regardless of the weight - the use of restraint systems is not required.
There is also something about not sitting in the front seat, which I did not understand.
