The 39th edition of Ovibeja will take place, between Thursday and Monday, at the Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Beja - Manuel Castro e Brito, with the general theme “Communicating, a great challenge for agriculture”.
The event is expected to be “one of the biggest fairs ever”, with “more exhibitors” than the previous edition spread over indoor and outdoor spaces.
This year the fair maintains its usual layout, despite some changes, such as the new location for handicrafts and the new space for the thematic exhibition which, this year, is also dedicated to the way of communicating agriculture.
The inaugural session is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 am in the ACOS auditorium and, on this first day, entries will be free until 8:00 pm.
The event's offer includes competitions, livestock exhibitions, equestrian demonstrations, sports competitions, business and institutional exhibitions.
It is also part of the 12th International Competition for Extra Virgin Olive Oil – CA Ovibeja Prize, whose prize-giving ceremony will take place on Saturday, at 1 pm, at the fairground.
The cultural program is another of the strong points of the fair, with the 'ovinoites' attracting thousands of young people to the venue.
This year, Luís Trigacheiro (Thursday), Quatro e Meia (Friday), Xutos e Pontapés (Saturday) and Bárbara Tinoco (Sunday) will perform, with DJs also planned.
