In addition to Portuguese F-16s, the "Red Arrows", officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, will take to the skies over the capital.

"This event takes place in the year in which the 650th anniversary of the Luso-British Alliance is celebrated, the oldest existing military and diplomatic alliance in the world, and following the commemorative ceremonies held in London, where King Charles III and the President of Portugal were present".

According to a statement from the British Embassy, on Sunday, the Red Arrows and the Portuguese F16s will "cross in formation over the Tagus River, Avenida da Liberdade and Eduardo VII Park, in a flyby illustrating the bilateral relationship between Portugal and the United Kingdom ".

In the diplomatic sphere, according to the note, the British Foreign Minister, James Cleverly, will meet his Portuguese counterpart, João Cravinho, on Friday.

At this meeting, the two leaders will discuss cooperation in matters such as climate change, defense and trade.

"The two ministers are also going to sign a memorandum of understanding, which will strengthen international cooperation for development," underlined the statement.
