Following the conclusion of this season of The Voice Kids Portugal, winner, Júlia Machado, who performed "Hello" by Adele has been selected to represent the country at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest, according to Eurovoix news. In recent years, RTP has utilised the popular singing competition as a pre-selection method for Junior Eurovision.
12-year-old Júlia Machado lives in New Jersey and received three yes votes from the judges in the audition round. Portugal aims to build upon its success in the previous edition of Junior Eurovision. In Yerevan, Armenia, Nicolas Alves impressed audiences with his song “Anos 70” and achieved Portugal’s best-ever result in the competition. Securing 8th place, Nicolas garnered an impressive 121 points, marking Portugal’s highest score in Junior Eurovision to date.

France will be hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for a second time, having first hosted the contest in 2021 in Paris.
The following countries have already confirmed their participation: France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Ukraine.
