During the night of May 5th three hunting dogs managed to break through the perimeter fence and internal fencing and killed many of the animals including the merkats, pheasants, chickens and wallabies, many of which had been raised from babies.
It is estimated that 14,000 euros will be needed to repair the damage caused and eventually hopefully source new animals to replace those that were lost.
As part of the fundraising activities being organised by various people there is a river trip on the 4th of July. Departing from Vila Real de Santo Antonio at 10.00, the cruise also includes lunch and entertainment before arriving back in Vila Real around 17.30.
The price is just 45 euros per person and promises to be a fun day out.
