The IPMA also placed more than 60 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Santarém, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Coimbra, Viseu, Guarda Vila Real, Braga, Porto and Bragança at very high risk.
Dozens of other municipalities in the districts of Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Aveiro, Coimbra, Viseu, Leiria, Santarém Portalegre, Lisbon, Setúbal, Évora, Beja and Faro are at high risk of fire.
This fire risk, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum and calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 4,831 fire events have already affected at least 10,000 hectares of rural areas.
The IPMA predicts for today on the continent a slight decrease in the maximum temperature, generally very cloudy skies, decreasing cloudiness from the beginning of the afternoon and light rain or drizzle on the North and Center coast until mid-morning.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 12ºCelsius (Guarda) and 19ºC (Faro) and the maximum between 21ºC (Viana do Castelo) and 32ºC (Faro).
