The Portuguese Navy, said that the request for assistance arrived at the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisboa) - responsible for coordinating the operation, in conjunction with the Captain of Porto from Portimão - at 12:42 pm yesterday (31 July), according to a report by NM.
The alert reported the "presence of a maritime-tourist vessel with problems in the propulsion system drifting towards the east pier of the Port of Portimão". Therefore, elements of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão were sent to the location.
There, they found the 14 people on the vessel "were physically well, without the need for medical assistance".
The same source also revealed that for "security reasons for the crew and navigation", the vessel was transported to the Port of Portimão, where it docked at 1:38 pm
