“From the beginning of the measure’s validity (April 18th) until September 4th, the reduction in food prices reached 10.14%, this result demonstrating a sustained and progressive decrease in food prices covered by the aforementioned basket throughout this period”.

The pact established between the Government, the Confederation of Farmers of Portugal (CAP) and the Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies (APED) provides, among other points, for the application of a VAT (Value Added Tax) rate of zero to 46 products, including beef, cheese and olive oil.
