The Government indicates in the proposal delivered today to the Assembly of the Republic that, in the context of road safety, it will reinforce the preventive dimension through an increase in awareness and inspection actions aimed at the main risky behaviours, such as speed, alcohol, safety accessories and cell phones.

These inspection actions will be complemented, according to the State Budget proposal for 2024 (OE2024), with the reinforcement of deterrence instruments, namely through the speed camera network and greater efficiency in the application of administrative offense law.

According to the document, the reinforcement of inspection, radars and greater efficiency in the application of fines aim to combat road accidents.
