In accordance with Ordinance No. 342/2023, published in Diário da República (DR), exceptional and temporary measures applicable to the fruit and vegetable sector and consequent financial assistance were established, running in 2023, “financial assistance of the Union that constitutes an integral part of the operational fund […] cannot exceed the amount of the Union's financial contribution to the operational funds approved for 2023 and is limited to 60% of the expenses actually incurred”.
According to what was published in DR, if there is “a reduction of at least 35% in the value of a product, […] the value of the commercialised production of that product, in 2023, is considered to represent 100% of the value of marketed production for the average of the five reference periods of the previous 12 months, excluding the lowest and highest values”.
The ordinance concerns products whose production was affected by the adverse weather recorded during spring may, during this year, suspend their operational programs, in whole or in part.
