Life expectancy at age 65 has been estimated at 19.75 years in the three-year period 2021-2023, according to provisional data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), which indicates an increase of 0. 14 years compared to 2020-2022.

For this calculation, deaths registered in the civil registry offices and provisional estimates of the resident population were taken into account.
Life expectancy at age 65 is the average number of years that a person who reaches that age can still expect to live, maintaining the mortality rates by age observed at the time.
