Camões Prize

This comes six days after having won the Machado de Assis Prize, the highest literary honour in Brazil.

Adélia Prado has been awarded the 2024 Camões Prize, the most prestigious accolade in Portuguese-language literature.

The 88-year-old has worked as a teacher, novelist, and short story writer, and is best known for the works “Bagagem” (1975) and “O Coração Disparado” (1978).
