The awards for the World’s Leading Airline to Africa and World’s Leading Airline to South America were presented to TAP at the 30th edition of these awards, at a gala held this Friday, 1 December, at the Burj AI Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The World Travel Awards for World Leader presented to TAP the renewal that the Company is undergoing and the commitment of its team and crews to improving the travel experience for its passengers.

Running for 30 editions, these awards have been presented since 1993 and were established with the aim of recognising, rewarding and celebrating excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. Nominated among some of the most renowned air and tourism carriers, TAP was chosen through an online voting process of mostly travel and tourism professionals, namely travel agents, operators and tourism organisations from more than 100 countries, as well as the general public.

The trophies awarded to TAP this year are added to the awards already won in previous editions. The Portuguese national airline was chosen by the World Travel Awards as the World’s Leading Airline to Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, as well as the World’s Leading Airline to South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. TAP was also considered the Leading European Airline for South America continuously between 2014 and 2023.

The ”World Travel Awards”, voted on by the general public and industry professionals, represent one of the most prestigious distinctions that tourism companies can receive, the different categories in the competition receive applications from all over the world.
