The Lusíadas Saúde Group will be opening a new hospital in Paços de Ferreira, in the Ferreira Plaza shopping center, in the district of Porto. This will be the fifth hospital unit in the north of the country. With an initial investment of €30 million, this new venture will create around 500 new job opportunities.

In a statement, the group explained that this is a step in their strategic expansion plan, after the opening of Hospital Lusíadas Santa Maria da Feira was announced. “In the north of the region alone, the global investment foresees the expansion of Lusíadas Saúde to exceed €60 million.”

This new hospital unit will consist of an operating room, containing two rooms for different surgical specialties, seven examination rooms for different specialties and an imaging room, totalling an area of approximately 4,000 square meters.

“This investment predicts the creation of around 500 new job opportunities, in addition to the creation of a modern and sophisticated healthcare offer aimed at the region’s 400 thousand inhabitants. The initial investment is foreseen to amount to around €30 million.”

For Vasco Antunes Pereira, CEO of Lusíadas Saúde, this expansion to different areas of the country “goes much further than business growth.” “Several statistics and studies show that the activity of private hospitals continues to grow, demonstrating that the Portuguese are increasingly looking to the private sector. That is the reason why it is so important that we reach new areas of the country”, he highlighted.
