According to idealista, the west coast of Portugal is known for its "perfect" waves that attract tourists from all over the world, with Ericeira, Peniche and Nazaré being the destinations of choice for surfers. Who will catch this wave in tourism is also the municipality of Óbidos, where a tourist village for surfers will be born, which will have an artificial wave pool. The total investment is expected to exceed 30 million euros.

It's called Surf Park and it's being born in Óbidos, a municipality located between Ericeira and Nazaré. It is a 4-star tourist village that aims to attract Portuguese and foreign tourists, who have a common taste: surfing, writes Expresso.

It is by the hand of Surfers Cove that this surf park is being launched, with a maximum of 144 beds available (56 units), a restaurant, a surf shop, several skate parks, paddle tennis and beach tennis courts, a surf school, green areas and an artificial wave pool (energy and water efficient). This entire village will be located in an area of 5 hectares, says the same newspaper.

The architectural project of this tourist village has already been given the green light by the municipality of Óbidos and Turismo de Portugal, and the other licensing phases are now underway. Apparently, this tourism project focused on surfing, which will have a total cost of 30 million euros, should start in 2024 with the completion of construction scheduled for December 2026 and it is planned to create 50 jobs.
