The Portuguese team had fallen to seventh place in November last year and remained there in recent months, but has now risen again to sixth place, after beating Sweden (5-2) at the end of March and losing to Slovenia (2-0), in preparation matches for Euro2024.

The world ranking continues to be led by Argentina, which has remained at the top for more than a year, since winning the 2022 World Cup, followed closely by France, which remains in second place.

In addition to Portugal's rise, in exchange with the Netherlands, which dropped to seventh place, there has only been one other change in the top 10 since the last update, on February 15, with Belgium moving up to third place and relegating England to fourth.

Brazil is in fifth place, ahead of the Portuguese and Dutch, while Spain (eighth), Italy (ninth), and Croatia (tenth) also held their respective positions.
