The work, which represents an investment of 1.6 million euros, supported by community funds, is part of the Ciclovia / Ecovia do Litoral Sul operation and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Action Plan (PAMUS).

With a length of 3.4 km, this infrastructure encompasses a rural-natural section that extends parallel to the dune range of Praia Grande (Pêra) – starting at the eastern tip of the urban network of the town of Armação de Pêra – and crossing the Ribeira Alcantarilha, joining the existing walkway at Lagoa dos Salgados.

This is an investment that, in addition to representing another point of tourist interest, will also benefit the local community, not only in the area of leisure but also by shortening the distance between the town of Armação de Pêra and the municipality of Albufeira, promoting the use of non-polluting means of travel, such as cycling.

The Municipality of Silves invites everyone to participate in the official inauguration of the cycle path/ecovia and to enjoy its potential.
