TAP will resume flights to Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, from 4 November 2024, informed the airline, indicating that the operation will have three flights per week, with a stop in Belém, according to Publituris.
According to a statement from TAP, flights to Manaus will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, increasing the number of the national airline's routes in Brazil to a total of 15.
“Brazil is strategic for TAP and the return of our flight to Manaus is another sign that we will continue to invest in the development of our operations in that country. We recently launched a new route to Florianópolis and we will end this year with at least 15 routes to Brazil, record numbers for the company in the sister country”, highlights Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP, quoted in the released statement.
In the information sent to the press, TAP recalls that this operation represents a return to a destination to which it had already flown in the past and which was on the airline's network between 2014 and 2016.
“Our goal is to bring more and more tourists to Brazil, not only from Portugal, but from all over the world where TAP flies, and to provide more than 60 destinations in Europe and Africa, which can also be flown to by Brazilians via Lisbon and Porto. We want to continue to be the main international airline in Brazil”, adds Luís Rodrigues.
It is important to note that during the European summer, TAP has 95 weekly flights to Brazil, an average of 13 flights per day, with departures from 13 Brazilian state capitals, despite the temporary suspension of connections to Porto Alegre.
São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis, and Manaus are the Brazilian cities that have TAP flights, making it a total of 13 routes, to which join two others to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, from Porto.
