AHETA, the association of Algarve hotels and tourist establishments, has lamented the death of Sir Jack Petchey, who was an entrepreneur in the Algarve and the founder of Clube Praia da Oura, among other relevant investments he implemented in the region.
“Subsequently, he created the Jack Petchey Foundation which is still active today, although now under the name Prime Skills, always with the purpose of helping young students in the business area. The Algarve and Albufeira in particular, owes him a great deal, maintaining collaboration protocols, namely with the Municipalities of Albufeira, Loulé, and Silves which, In addition to the Foundation itself, they are the main financing entities of the project”, the association’s press release reads.
AHETA paid tribute to Sir Jack Petchey’s deep involvement “When, faced with financial difficulties, at the end of the construction of AHETA's headquarters building, Sir Jack Petchey, immediately made himself available to sponsor the equipment of the auditorium and other spaces intended for training. AHETA expresses deep regret for the irreparable loss and extends their heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends”, the press release concludes.
Jack Petchey is survived by his wife Lady Frances Petchey, his daughters Jackie, Susan, and Amanda, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
