“Demand for bus travel has soared in recent months, in line with the growth of the travel and tourism sector in Portugal and Europe. Expresses are increasingly the first option when traveling, and this is visible not only in the number of FlixBus buses that are on the road but also in the thousands of passengers we transport daily” says Pablo Pastega, general director of FlixBus in Portugal and Spain. And he adds: “These new lines respond to this increase in demand, and are part of the brand's strategic growth plan in Portugal. We continue to invest in Portugal and will soon reach the entire country.”

But it's not just the North that has news from the German travel technology company. From now on, FlixBus' green buses will connect the city of Évora to Lisbon airport two to four times a day – there are more connections at the weekend. Évora now has direct connections to two airports: to Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon, and also to Madrid-Barajas Airport.

“We continue with our strategy of strengthening direct connections to national airports,” says Pablo Pastega, general director of FlixBus for Portugal and Spain. “The objective is to facilitate connecting trips for everyone traveling by plane, as we believe that with good shared mobility solutions, people going to airports can leave their car at home and use public transport”, he adds.

Here are the most recent connections available to the north and in Alentejo:

▸Lisbon ⇆ Barcelos

▸Barcelos ⇆ Porto

▸Lisbon ⇆ Famalicão
