In a statement, the IPMA says that the earthquake had its epicentre about eight kilometres east-southeast of Benavente and was recorded at 00:03 at the Continental Seismic Network stations.

This earthquake, according to the information available to date, did not cause any personal or material damage and was felt with maximum intensity II (Modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality.
