This is a lower increase than the 6.94% increase in house rents recorded last year, which was also the largest increase in rents since 1993 and is in line with the flash estimate released by INE on 30 August.

With a rent of 600 euros, the increase in rents expected for next year will result in an increase in the family budget of 13 euros per month or 155.5 euros per year, which must be communicated by the landlord to the tenant in writing and at least 30 days in advance.

The annual rent adjustment coefficient is determined by law based on the total variation in the consumer price index, excluding housing, corresponding to the last 12 months and for which values ​​are available on 31 August, as determined by the INE.
