The heads of government of Portugal and Spain will sign a letter to the President of France to “be able to carry out rail interconnection” of passengers and goods between the Iberian Peninsula and the centre of Europe.

The announcement was made by the Portuguese Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, at the final conference of the 35th Luso-Spanish Summit.
Luís Montenegro considered that this Iberian summit demonstrated “the strength of the bilateral relationship between the two countries”, and highlighted that Spain is “a friendly country, a different country”.
