The company has leased a logistics centre measuring 2,586 square meters (m2) in the aforementioned logistics park, which is managed and owned by Serris Reim, of French origin and already present in Portugal for some years, according to a report by idealista.
According to Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), which advised Serris Reim on the deal, Lezíria Park is a mixed-use complex that integrates offices, hotels and warehouses.
“This lease not only reinforces the strategic position of this logistics park but also underlines our ability to attract market leaders to the region. The presence of XPO Logistics, a renowned company in the forwarding and logistics sector, is proof of the potential and attractiveness of Lezíria Park as a logistics hub of excellence”, comments Sandra Ferreira, Senior Consultant, Industrial, Logistics & Land at C&W, cited in a statement.
The real estate consultancy says that from this new logistics and distribution centre, XPO will offer comprehensive solutions to customers, including 'last mile' and 'contract logistics' in Lisbon and the south of Portugal. “Simultaneously, the current Lisbon centre and the Pombal and Porto centres will continue with their full and partial load and pallet activity, covering the national territory, as well as Spain and Europe, allowing the company to optimize logistics efficiency in all areas of operations”, says the note.
XPO Logistics therefore now has 79 logistics centres throughout the Iberian Peninsula, where it holds a leading position in the capillary distribution service.
