Among the selected buildings are the Old Hospital of Ribeira Grande (Azores), the Police Headquarters (Almeida), the Educational Center of Vila Fernando (Elvas), the Pombalino Building of Rua da Prata (Lisbon) and the Convent of São José, also known as Convento Novo (Évora), according to ECO.

These properties are in addition to the 24 already granted since the beginning of the program, in 2016, which represents a total investment of 190 million euros by private individuals and an annual income of three million euros for the State.

However, only three hotels are currently operational: Vila Galé Collection Elvas, Vila Galé Collection Alter Real and The Lince Santa Clara, in Vila do Conde.

The Ministry of Economy also told the publication that two other projects are in the final stages of construction: the Arouca Monastery (Arouca) and the Palacete dos Condes Dias Garcia (São João da Madeira).

Despite progress, the program faces challenges. Of the 65 properties initially mapped, 31 were put out to tender, but only 24 contracts were signed, and many works remain un-started or are delayed
