"Glória" has an original script by Pedro Lopes, one of the authors of the series "Auga Seca" and several soap operas, and is directed by Tiago Guedes, who directed "A Herdade", a film that was distinguished a year ago within the scope of the Venice Film Festival.

The actors Miguel Nunes, Carolina Amaral, Victoria Guerra, Afonso Pimentel, Adriano Luz and Gonçalo Waddington are among the protagonists.

"Glória", which takes place in the 60s, at the height of the Cold War, is being recorded in the Ribatejo region and Lisbon, according to information released by Netflix.

The action is concentrated in the village of Glória do Ribatejo, where the American broadcast centre RARET is located, which emits Western propaganda for the Eastern Bloc.

Spi's executive director, José Amaral, cited in the Netflix statement, says that "Glória" is part of a path and "strategic vision of international expansion", which the producer has been following.

"As producers, this moment also represents the beginning of a new cycle for the Portuguese audio-visual market, since it places our country on the 'roadmap' of the great international productions that Netflix has been advocating", continues José Amaral.
