According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Vila Real, Guarda and Castelo Branco will be under a yellow warning due to the forecast of snowfall with accumulation on the ground above 1,200 meters of altitude, with light snow showers above 1,000 meters of altitude.
The IPMA states that the yellow warning for those five districts will be in effect between 9:00am and 12:00pm on Thursday.
The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever the weather situation represents a risk for certain activities.
