The international jury composed by representatives from all regions or member cities of the great wine capitals global network, distinguished that the hotel unit was a 'Global Winner' based on criteria such as the quality of their services and facilities, the innovation and originality of the offer and the impact on the development of wine tourism and the vinhos verdes region.
In order to award wine tourism service companies in each of the member cities of the great wine capitals global network, the best of Wine Tourism awards highlight the best in the categories of accommodation, catering, services or innovative experiences.
In the middle of the vinhos verdes region, Monverde has 30 hectares of vineyards, providing 46 accommodation units. The hotel favors comfort, in an environment directly in contact with nature. Monverde announced in June, the opening of a new 'premium' segment, with private spaces, in a global investment of two million euros.
Miguel Ribeiro explained to lusa that he was forced to postpone this due to the pandemic. The new concept, which allows the hotel to minimize their losses caused by covid-19 after a forced closure, has ten suites each with a private pool and six new 'premium' rooms. These suites, with 150 square meters between interior area, garden and swimming pool, allow a different experience, maintaining the personalization and exclusivity of the offer, while ensuring the comfort and safety that today due to the pandemic, people seek, indicated the general of Monverde, in June. With huge windows, overlooking the property's 30 hectares of vineyards guests can enjoy a range of services in their suites, from meals to SPA treatments.
