“Following the weekly review of the measures to contain and mitigate the covid-19 disease”, 16 municipalities have added to the list of very high risk municipalities, which included only Lisbon, Albufeira and Sesimbra, and now also covers “Almada, Amadora, Barreiro, Cascais, Constance, Loulé, Loures, Mafra, Mira, Moita, Odivelas, Oeiras, Olhão, Seixal, Sintra and Sobral de Monte Agraço”.
The resolution also defines 26 councils considered at “high risk”, namely Alcochete, Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Avis, Braga, Castelo de Vide, Faro, Grândola, Lagoa, Lagos, Montijo, Odemira, Palmela, Paredes de Coura, Portimão, Porto, Rio Maior, Santarém, São Brás de Alportel, Sardoal, Setúbal, Silves, Sines, Sousel, Torres Vedras and Vila Franca de Xira.
All citizens who are in the 45 municipalities that are subject to the rules relating to "high risk" and "very high risk", determines the resolution, "should refrain from circulating in public or private roads and stay at their respective homes, every day of the week, between 23:00 and 05:00”.
The Lisbon weekend lockdown also continues with "the circulation to and from the Lisbon Metropolitan Area prohibited" over the weekend, that is, "between 3:00 pm on 2 July, 2021 and 6:00 am on 5 July, 2021 ”.
Resolution No. 86-A/2021 states that the pandemic “is in a growth phase, associated with the presence and proliferation of variants of concern” in the national territory, “with an increase in the incidence and number of those infected and hospitalised”.
“In this sense”, the text continues, “the adoption of new mitigation and containment measures is justified”, as well as the need to “maintain all the precautions that have accompanied us since the beginning of this pandemic”.
What are the rules?
For the 19 very high risk councils

Things seem to be going so much better in Sweden with no lockdowns, mask mandates, school closures, etc. Is it possible that the Portuguese political and medical establishment have made a dreadful and deadly “mistake” with their whole approach to Covid19? If they have will they ever admit it?

Please can someone explain how the 23.00 - 05.00 curfew combats a virus? Does the virus lie in wait in the dark ready to ambush unsuspecting walkers?
As for the numbers allowed at tables... what a farce! I can sit with 6 people for 10 minutes and then go meet another 5 friends elsewhere etc etc. I find it astounding that people who supposedly have a certain level of intelligence and are in levels of government honestly believe these ridiculous regulations make a difference! When are people going to say enough is enough? Only when 50% of them are unemployed? We are frogs in a pot of water very slowly being brought to a boil! Wake up before it’s too late!

So which tests are being used to account for the rise in cases, the same PCR tests deemed unreliable by a Portuguese court? Laughable to say the least!

It's futile to try and apply logic to an illogical narrative.
The script has more holes than all the cheese in Switzerland.
Some countries have put this farce now in the rearview mirror.

What the hell is everyone worried about ?
They are going to keep rolling out this variant , that variant making us a bunch of fearful bandits they penalise us which ever way they want anyway.
Just get out to Nature and enjoy God's gift and stop falling for their scare tactics as if there is a killer around a street corner at 11:01pm out to kill you.

Portugal has to up its vaccination program it’s the only way back to normality. There is lots of evidence that the vaccination works against all variants. Also it’s vertically impossible to catch it in the open air especially by the beach .Stop doing what Brussels tells you to do & use common sense .

I have such a hard time understanding your articles. WHERE is a link so people can see which municipalities are affected? I'm sorry but his is such shoddy reporting.

Hello Philip,
Sweden have had no lock downs, no mandatory mask wearing and no curfews there is no test or vaccine requirement for Swedish citizens to enter or leave Sweden, Sweden gov have test requirement for entry by non Swedish citizens which is strange, but they are in steps removing this.
Portuguese people can come to Sweden and rent or buy a place to stay and live a normal life, no visa is required Sweden is part of EU.
I talked yesterday with a senior employee working for the Swedish Church as chief caretaker of cemetarys in a smaller town in northern Sweden, he told me that between march 2020 and July 2021 fewer people died compared with previous years.

I understand Portugal having a partial lockdown but not the science behind it. Café s should serve outdoors maximum four per table. Delta mutant spreads very fast indoors and it is airborne, reduce the risk, meet outdoors. Avoid tourist areas. TEST, TEST, TEST. VACCINATE EVERYONE OVER 10 YEARS OLD AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. You can break the infection rate faster this way.

This is an inevitability when economic needs trump medical science. COVID is going to be with us a long time because of greed and indifference!

We’ll shock horror. Most people in Algarve testing positive are from uk. Since these people need to test negative to arrive. Then if they test positive they must have caught it in Portugal. And since they require to test to leave, logic would suggest more uk nationals get tested than locals. So you would get more positives. But who they catching it from. The fully tested plane full of double jabbed passengers. Or a country that is so busy hanging onto the Merkel coat tail, it can’t sort its own vaccine programme out.

This variant is weak and mainly gives a runny nose, stopping people from catching it is counter productive. Locking down stores up more problems for the real flu season. Let people catch it, the old and vulnerable are vaccinated, the young are not at risk, natural immunity for all for the sake of a cold.
By Ian Chestney from Other on 02 Jul 2021, 13:25
And they are still pushing the vaccines! They don't tell you that there are more vaccinated people dying (17000 as recorded on the EudraVililance (Europe) vaers system on 26 June 2021). If the vaccines worked, why are the "numbers" going up? It's summer time. Being in the sun, getting vitamin D and fresh air is the best thing you can get! Not lockdows (Prison), masks (Identity theft) and social distancing(Killing social life). If you do not realize it now, you never will, but everything is driven by the UN, the WHO, the World Bank controlled by the Bilderberg group! Don't believe me, go do your own research!

Unbelievable. The sheep here swallows anything the government says and they obey. I cant watch it any more and cant say nothing either. It just blows my mind that the curfew nonsense is coming back in the same form so do other rules that proved to be just a silly govenrmental nonsens so that they can show to the blind that they do something about it. I wonder at what level of cycles those summer PCR tests are done. 40 again or maybe more? People of Lisbon are reluctant to wake up obviously.

Andre Dias (epidemiologist / respiratory modelling expert)
Has taken the Portuguese SICO to court and proved that only 152 people died of Cv-19 NOT 17,000 (Jan 2020 - now) as is being reported
https://andre-dias.net/os-152/
By Roland Johnson Bell from Other on 02 Jul 2021, 22:24
I won't bother to respond to the usual array of raving conspiracy nonsense here, but some basic scientific ignorance is obvious. Niel, the increasing number of vaccinated people contracting Covid is exactly what is expected. It's simple really. Imagine a time when virtually everyone is vaccinated; the vaccine isn't 100% effective, so at that point everyone who gets infected will have been vaccinated. We're on the way to that point, hence the increasing numbers now of vaccinated people getting the disease.
By Felix from UK on 03 Jul 2021, 09:50
1000 hospitalisations all double vaccinated. Lisbon court finds that only 152 deaths can be attributed to Covid not the 17,000 claimed. Come on Portugal stand up and fight for your people.
By Tim duffin from UK on 03 Jul 2021, 16:17
Hi Felix
We are all entitled to an opinion but may I ask ...
Do you have a PHD in epidemiology specialising in Respiratory Lung Modelling like the scientist Andre Dias, who championed the case in the Lisbon Court that proved only 152 deaths 2020 - 2021 were due to Cv-19? Have you seen the Great Barrington Declaration signed by over 55,000 Medical professionals including research scientists, Doctors, epidemiologists and virologists? Do you know what MRNA technology means
Tim Duffin
Big you up and others who are not prepared to swallow the narrative
GOD Bless
Roly
By Roland Johnson Bell from Other on 03 Jul 2021, 20:40
Roland is saying the truth, it is same in Sweden numbers are piled up, and died with covid what does that mean? when people dying from heart, cancer and stroke and other illnesses are labeled as covid deaths if they had smallest symptom of flu or cold 30 days before the person died of course we get huge covid death numbers, never before have flu or cold or a new virus deaths been piled up like this to create fear and hysteria in society.
Every day in Sweden approx 240 to 300 people die from different reasons, in year 2002 it was almost same mortality as 2020, but we have over 1 million more people in Sweden since 2002 and also many people from 1930, 1940s generation passed away in 2020 by natural causes.
People dead after stroke, brain seizure, heart failure, cancer it is wrong to use their deaths for political reasons and classify their passing away as a flu case.
Covid 19 is now used for political and financial interests, curfews and masks and lockdowns doesnt make any significant difference against viruses or bacteria from old or new illnesses, also why are curfews imposed at night but not during the day?
By Magnus from Other on 04 Jul 2021, 12:35
Roland is absolutely right! Everyone is entitled to an opinion...including Andre Dias who disagrees with other PhD epidemiologists, and the 55,000 medical professionals whose opinions disagree with tens of thousands of other medical professionals, and the Portuguese judge is entitled to have an opinion.
What are we left with? To decide what is best for ourselves, in our own opinion.
