"In Portugal, the volume of motorhome trips, using
vehicle rental, was higher between the months of May and June. If in 2021
Yescapa registered 2,760 trips in this period, 2022 demonstrated that the
practice is here to stay: 4,380 trips held in the country and an occupancy rate
exceeding 87%", says the company in a statement.
According to Yescapa, around 45% of the bookings registered
on its website in 2022 were from foreigners in Portugal, namely Germans,
French, Spanish, and Italians, but "the Portuguese have also 'awakened' to
this form of travel, with an increase significant compared to 2021".
The profiles of travellers in Portugal remain people aged
between 30 and 50, couples with children, couples and groups of friends.
Too bad about the new 48 hrs parking rule, and all the closed off beaches and natural Parcs where motorhomes aren't allowed anymore. Lots of foreigners with motorhomes are avoiding Portugal now because of this, and because of all the closed down Aires. I say this article is misinformation. Just like "all the hotels being booked fully for Xmas".... they're not.

Dreadful. This year was worse than last year.Endless illegally parked motorhomes and vans.Even people sleeping in their cars.
They leave unbelievable amounts of rubbish and defecate all over the place.
These bedrooms on wheels are a blight and need to be removed.
Residents need to fight back.Enough is enough
