Hosted on behalf of One Green Way by Jean-Noël Bioul, the former Global Sponsorship Director of ROLEX, the mixed Pro-Am golf tournament saw a line-up of the world’s greatest golfing ‘Legends’ compete for the trophy including Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, José Maria Olazábal, Laura Davies, Lorena Ochoa, Annika Sörenstam and Suzann Pettersen.

First staged in March 2022 to mark the launch of the luxury residential One Green Way development in Quinta do Lago (due to complete in 2024), The One Green Way Invitational is gaining a reputation as the most sought-after private golf tournament in Europe, with total prize money of €325,500 this year. The three-day tournament, which pairs 60 professionals with 60 privately invited guests, closed with a glamorous Gala dinner for 120 guests at Bovino restaurant, where guests were entertained by magician Mário Daniel. The tournament was emceed by Sky Sports golf presenter Sarah Stirk, an ambassador for One Green Way, who owns a property in Quinta do Lago

Played out on the immaculate North Course of Quinta do Lago, participants included on the men’s side, numerous Ryder Cup Captains and Vice Captains, and on the women’s side, Solheim Cup Captains and Vice Captains. All the top players participating have also enjoyed successive wins on the Europe and PGA tours and the Majors, with several voted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Bernhard Langer (Germany), who was voted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002; Colin Montgomerie (Scotland), Ryder Cup winning Captain in 2010; the flamboyant, cigar-loving Miguel Ángel Jiménez (Spain); José Maria Olazábal (Spain); and Robert Karlsson (Sweden).

Lorena Ochoa (Mexico), voted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017 and who still holds the record for the most weeks in a row in the top position in women’s golf; Solheim Cup Vice Captain Dame Laura Davies (UK), who holds the Guinness World Record for the most points (25) and the most appearances in the Solheim Cup; Captain of the European 2017 Solheim Cup Captain Annika Sörenstam (Sweden); former world number two Suzann Pettersen (Norway), who was Vice Captain of the European team at the Solheim in 2017, 2021 and is current Captain for 2023; and Helen Alfredsson who won a Major in 1993.

In addition to the Professional players, VIP guests attending the tournament included Olivier Creed of Parfums Creed, British aristocrat Lord Stafford and Edward Kitson, Ryder Match Cup Director. Other guests from the Algarve included Delia Lachance, Kam Heskin and her husband James Maybe, Asif and Laura Oomer and Christophe de Pauw. The winner of the Amateur trophy was Asif Oomer.
