Art lovers and Frida Kahlo's will have more opportunities to visit the only immersive exhibition dedicated to the Mexican artist's life in Portugal. With an end date initially scheduled for April 9, “Frida Kahlo, the Immersive Biography”, on display at Immersivus Gallery Lisbon, located in the Mãe D’Água Reservoir of Amoreiras, has now been extended until June 18.
Resulting from the partnership between Immersivus, the OCUBO studio, the Frida Kahlo Corporation, the Ideal Barcelona gallery and the Layers of Reality creative studio, the exhibition “Frida Kahlo, the Immersive Biography”, is a multisensory dive into the life of one of the most influential artists of all time, already having more than 80,000 visitors in Portugal.
Through a unique combination of physical and digital environments, which include a 360º multimedia show, virtual reality experiences, holographic animations and video mapping in sculptures, it is possible to experience, with all the senses, the moments that most marked the life and work of Frida Kahlo, and explore her imagination.
Parallel to this initiative, “Mysterious Egypt”, an immersive adventure through the mysteries of Ancient Egypt that transforms visitors into intrepid explorers, will be extended until the same date, at Immersivus Gallery Porto and Lisbon.
According to Edoardo Canessa, Executive Producer of Immersivus, “Both exhibitions address structuring themes of History and Art, through the use of technology, inviting audiences of all ages to leave home and have a good time, alone or with their family, deepening knowledge, experiencing new emotions and exploring, in an innovative way, the magnificent buildings where these experiences take place – the Alfândega do Porto and the Reservoir da Mãe D'Água das Amoreiras.”
“Frida Kahlo, the Immersive Biography” can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 4.30 pm, and tickets cost between €8 and €15. “Mysterious Egypt”, in turn, is available from Tuesday to Sunday, with sessions at 11am, 2pm and 5pm in Porto and at 2pm (weekdays) and 3pm (weekends) in Lisbon, Portugal and tickets between €8 and €15. Tickets can be purchased through the PORTUGALAGENDA.COM platform.
