In a statement, the fintech participating in the Web Summit, which is taking place in Rio de Janeiro, points out that the launch in Brazil is the "first country in Latin America".
"Brazil is an exciting market for Revolut and has enormous potential for our global expansion. Our mission is to unlock a borderless economy with financial products that are accessible and easy to use, and that allow our customers to use their money efficiently. We want to start with the global account and crypto investments, but this is just the beginning," says Revolut co-founder and CEO Nik Storonsky, quoted in a statement.
The CEO of Revolut Brasil, Glauber Mota, considers that "there is a lot of appetite for Revolut and digital banking services in Brazil", since "recent surveys reveal that more than 45% of Brazilians already use digital accounts as their main accounts, and use more than five different applications to manage payments, transfers and investments."
Revolut indicates that from today "a phased launch" will take place, in which "customers on the waiting list will be invited to register, in addition to opening the waiting list to people throughout Brazil".
