This year, the Madeiran archipelago is once again nominated for Best Island Destination in Europe, also with nominations for Best Adventure Destination in Europe, Best Destination for Festivals and Events in Europe, Best Sustainable Destination in Europe and Best Beach Destination in Europe , and this last nomination refers to the island of Porto Santo.

“It is an honour for the Region to be once again nominated for the European edition of the World Travel Awards, and in five different categories”, said Eduardo Jesus, Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture and president of the Madeira Promotion Association.

According to the official, these nominations are also "the result of the work that has been carried out in recent years, in maintaining and improving the quality of the destination, through numerous projects that aim to continue to keep Madeira on the radar of the world tourism industry”.

Voting for the WTA European Gala runs until August 20th.
