A group of football scouts from a well-known London-based agency have set their sights on the emerging potential in the Algarve, which is a ground-breaking development for Sporting Clube Farense. Nestled in Faro City which has long been a football fan's paradise. But the coming of this elite group of scouts is a big deal because they aren't only coming to find potential; they're here to invest in the future of the Farense, which is presently competing in the top division.

“Our scouting team pitch talent according to different club’s needs, a club like Farense which has a small income means we need to be smart in discovering hidden gems, also players who have shown potential and lost confidence,” he told The Portugal News.

The agency has successfully identified and developed players who currently play in the elite English Premier League thanks to its strong eye for potential. “Premier League young talents such as Owen Otasowie we nurtured all the way from the youth ranks.”

Showing faith

They are showing renewed faith in the ability of the local players and the squad by entering the Farense football scene. This transnational collaboration has the potential to completely change the football club’s landscape and take it to previously unheard-of levels on the world scene.

TPN asked about their methods for how they scout players: “We watch them for up to 18 months and check family background, friend groups and analyse if the player has the mentality of a Premier League player”.

Farense football team have achieved notable progress in recent times. Their recent promotion back into the top division in Portugal has given them more of a reason to start focusing and building a network for development.

“Our talent team are aiming to bring talent beyond the club’s market which has been Portugal, Spain and South America, our target market is the UK and Africa which are a hotbed for future stars.”

The Farense football community is buzzing with anticipation for the transformation this alliance will bring about. With the hope that Sporting Clube Farense is about to enter a golden age of producing young stars and bringing the club success while doing so.
