In a very bumpy session, Miguel Oliveira set his best lap in 1.19.984 minutes, finishing 0.362 seconds behind the fastest, Spaniard Maverick Viñales, with fellow Spaniard Jorge Martín (Ducati) in second place, 0.340 seconds behind.

The timed practice sessions, which saw the 10 fastest drivers qualify directly for Q2, were marked by several accidents.

Italian Fabio DiGiannantonio suffered the most serious accident, which forced the session to be interrupted to replace the protective barriers after the driver from Valentino Rossi's team violently crashed into the air cushions on the run-off at Turn 1.

Taken to the medical center with complaints in his right collarbone and arm, he was eventually considered fit to race.

Spaniard Marc Márquez (Ducati) also went to the medical center after a fall that left him with chest pains.

Compatriot Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) did not participate in this afternoon's session due to pain in his right hand following a crash in the previous round in the Netherlands a week ago. He is expected to be out of this weekend's race.

Also on the ground were the Spaniards Pedro Acosta (KTM), Joan Mir (Honda), Augusto Fernandez (GasGas), the Japanese Takaaki Nakagami (Honda), the Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati), the French Johann Zarco (Honda) and the Australian Remy Gardner (Yamaha), who replaces the injured Alex Rins this weekend.

Maverick Viñales broke the circuit record, which had been in force since 2022, while Miguel Oliveira had the best-timed practice session of the season.
