The National Republican Guard (GNR) operation "Traveling Safely" 2024, which starts today, is aimed at the most critical periods and roads in the GNR's area of ​​responsibility and aims to prevent road accidents, especially with regard to two-wheeled motor vehicles.

The three days of increased patrols coincide with the Superbike World Championship at the Algarve International Circuit - Portimão, and an increase in the number of two-wheeled motor vehicles on the roads is expected.

The main objective of the operation, explains the GNR in a statement, is to improve road safety, ensuring the fluidity of road traffic and providing support to road users, and to raise awareness among two-wheeled vehicle drivers about the dangers of reckless driving and failure to wear helmets, appropriate clothing and footwear.
