Almost five dozen municipalities are at maximum risk in the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Coimbra, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Leiria and Santarém, according to the IPMA.
Around 80 municipalities in districts such as Bragança, Vila Real, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém, Beja and Faro are at very high risk.
The IPMA has placed almost the entire Alentejo region and dozens of municipalities in Lisbon, Santarém, Leria, Coimbra, Viseu, Aveiro, Braga and Viana do Castelo at high risk.
The fire risk, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from ‘low’ to ‘maximum’, and the calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
A drop in maximum temperatures is expected for today, especially inland, and there is also the possibility of light rain or drizzle on the coast north of Cabo Raso.
Minimum temperatures will range between 14º Celsius (Guarda) and 20º (Faro) and maximum temperatures between 23º (Viana do Castelo and Porto) and 31º (Castelo Branco, Évora, Beja and Faro).
