The first call centre of the AIMA Mission Structure began operating today at the Hindu Centre in Telheiras, with opening hours between 08:00 and 22:00, and the first morning was apparently normal, although some people were not seen due to a lack of appointments.
In a statement published today on the AIMA website, the organisation states that services are provided “exclusively by appointment”.
“In view of the effectiveness of the process and the optimisation of resources, cases without an appointment will not be seen at this call centre”, the statement reads.
It adds that the Mission Structure will operate until June 2025 to resolve the approximately 400,000 cases awaiting analysis for regularisation in the country.
Specifically in relation to Lisbon, AIMA states that the store located on Avenida António Augusto Aguiar “will now be dedicated to receiving cases, during normal hours, by appointment, issuing duplicates and delivering titles”, while the store in Anjos will be “exclusively for information”, without prior appointment.
On the other hand, AIMA takes the opportunity to appeal to all immigrants who have pending cases to update their contact details, in case of any changes, “so that they receive the necessary communications and appointments as soon as possible”.

What about those of us who have lived here for years? I have been trying since February to get through. IAMA doesn't answer their phone number and doesn't respond to their email. How do they expect us to even get in line for renewal?

It sure would be nice if you added the link or instructions on how to update contact information and if it isn't known, then say that. Repeating from a press release or website that AIMA wants updated contact information without any explanation of how or where to do it is pretty useless. Moreover, does this apply to all of Portugal or just the Lisbon offices? Please take a few minutes to do some journalism here otherwise this just adds to the confusion.

What about residence permit renewal? What about family reunification? Will AIMA ever set aside some capacity for such urgent tasks? Or will it solely focus on "regularisation" of the 400k cases. Those who came through proper visa through consulates are forgotten. What a shame.

AIMA only allows contact information to be updated via appointment. From my experience, they are currently not taking appointments for anything other than renewals (based on their website dropdown options). Under those circumstances, how are we supposed to update our contact information? There needs to be a way to update contact information online.
