Previously, on May 12th, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) had already put forward the possible dates for the start of the season, stating that the Cândido Oliveira Super Cup will be contested between July 30th and August 1st.
The game will pit the national champion, Sporting, against the winner of the Portuguese Cup, Sporting de Braga.
In the same announcement, the FPF said that the final of the 2021/22 Portuguese Cup will be played on May 22, in a competition taking place over eight qualifiers, in which I Liga teams will only enter from the third, scheduled. for October 17th.
