“We all know that there is a deficit and deficient service on the part of CTT in the Azores”, pointed out the official, noting that “CTT is not meeting the minimum requirements for the service that they should give”.

Duarte Freitas admitted that it is necessary to apply “as much pressure as possible” for the company to provide “a better service” in the archipelago.

The official regretted that, in addition to CTT, other public services have been closing branches in the archipelago, especially on the smaller and less populated islands, making life difficult for many Azoreans, especially the elderly.

“I am from a small island and I know well what it is like to close schools, people's homes and banking institutions, which often work only on Excel sheets, without taking into account the populations they serve”, lamented Freitas.
