After being approved by Parliament and the President of the Republic, the new norm was published in Diário da República and comes into force this Tuesday, July 11th.
"The present law eliminates the obligation to display the motor insurance label and proceeds with the second amendment of Decree-Law No. by Decree-Law No. 153/2008, of August 6", reads the note published in Diário da República.
On June 2, Parliament approved this amendment and added some points to the article of the law that defines the rules for issuing documents proving insurance, providing that these documents can be issued and made available through electronic means, "without prejudice to their issuance and availability on paper, at no extra cost, at the request of the policyholder or, where applicable, the insured, or in cases where they do not demonstrably have adequate electronic means for the safe transmission and reception of the same".
These documents issued electronically "replace the paper insurance certificate".
The number of cars without insurance will increase significantly.

Vogels. But the government will be able to argue that they actually did something during their turn.

Both Vogels and Ian are right! But this is also another way for the socialists to get more fines when/if people are caught without insurance.

It wasn't broke, so they "fixed" it. Any connection to the migrant issue? Just wondering.
