For class 1 vehicles, the cost is now €4.65, representing a decrease of €1.95, around 30%, compared to the €6.60 charged until December 31, 2023.
According to Algarve Marafado tells us, from Portimão to Faro, the cost is now €2.05, a reduction of 85 cents compared to previous values.
Reducing tolls aims not only to make travel more accessible but also to encourage the use of motorways, improving travel efficiency and contributing to user convenience.
Prices differ at different times of the day for certain vehicles
The Ministry of Territorial Cohesion (MCT) reported that the reduction is around 30% compared to prices in force at the end of 2023 for light vehicles and 22.6% for freight and passenger transport during the day.
At night, weekends and holidays, freight and passenger transport maintained the same prices in force last year.
These reduction values do not take into account increases resulting from inflation, as stipulated in the concession contracts in force.
Inflation is just an excuse to increase prices. Recently Tolls in Portugal has significantly increased and makes life expensive just to step out of the house, move freely add to the frustration of families coping to stay strong.
