The beaches of Amorosa have been closed to bathing due to microbiological contamination, according to the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA).

On its official website, the APA informs that the "ban" began today and concerns the "bathing water of Amorosa", in the municipality of Viana do Castelo.
Contacted by Lusa, the port captain and Maritime Authority of Viana do Castelo, Serrano da Paz, said that there was a warning that "bathing is not recommended" at the beaches of Amorosa.
According to the person in charge, the situation "is expected to remain the same until the 12th [Monday]", and on Friday "a new sample will be taken".
