The initiative will run from the 24th to the 27th of May, but only during the last two days will the 32 chosen convents have their doors open to the public for free.

The 24th was reserved for the official opening of the ‘Open Conventos’ and the 25th for a debate on the theme “Convents and housing”.

On the 26th and 27th of May there are visits to the convents, which can be guided or free.

The organisation also provides walking routes, which pass through several convents.

Guided tours and walking tours are carried out by professionals in the area, require prior booking and have a maximum limit of 30 people.

In the case of free visits, they can be accompanied by a digital guide and there is no need to register.

Among the 32 convents included in the project, the oldest is the Convento Madre de Deus, located in the Museu do Azulejo, and the most recent is the Convent of São Domingos, in Alto dos Moinhos.

All are free to visit, except the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.
